Latest News

Good Morning, as we embark on final week of the school year I want to say a deep heartfelt thank you to our entire staff @ JSA. We have worked tirelessly throughout the entire year to provide a high quality education for our students here at Jewett School of the Arts. I want everyone to know that I appreciate all that every member of our staff does to keep the school running smoothly from administration to our custodial staff. You all have continued to support the vision of JSA becoming a GREAT Fine Arts & STEAM Magnet school and we will only get better as next year rolls around. I believe our wonderful strides have come about due to the strengthening of our mental fortitude this year and the growth is extremely evident in our site visit feedback Please check out our video for this week and reflect on it over the summer and use it to build up yourself throughout the summer.

Please make sure that you pay attention to the e-mail sent last night if you are in a portable. Principals’ Highlights
·      Wonderful work by the 6th grade team on the STEAM day that produced phenomenal artifacts and was an excellent example of STEAM integration into a unit by having several students produce written artifacts, engineer different designs from hats, goggles, retractable wings, extra hands and reports to display the comprehension of the STEAM PUNK unit; I would also like to give a huge shout out to Mrs. Reddick, Mrs. Heineken and the wonderful JSA PTA that put on our 1st Annual Field Day for grades K – 5 that was extremely successful and went off without a hitch. Thank you to both of the groups which served as the highlight for the week.

 Formative Assessment
Formative of the week will be 3 -2-1 to use for your assignments and I ask that you explore various STEAM exercises throughout the week and take the time to dabble into experiments for next year with your students in the class.

 Behavior Update
We will need everyone to be on duty for the final week if you are on campus. The last thing we need is for a student to make a poor choice or attempt to do something that has not been well thought out and not have an adult present. We implore everyone to walk with students upon dismissal and take an area at MS or Elementary Buses, Car rider outside/inside and Elementary buses.
