Michael's Memo 9/18/17
Good afternoon staff, I am so glad that everyone made it safely through the storm. We are very grateful that the campus didn't sustain any major damage during the storm. Now more than ever, it is important to focus on the relationships we have with our students. Everyone knows that we will have some returnees to campus that are currently displaced due to the storm and may or may not have had a hot meal since we last saw them. Please make sure that we are doing our very best to address the needs of our students. We will have a short survey that the students can take to assist us in addressing their needs after Hurricane Irma. I will send the link that the students can complete using their own device or computers within the classroom. Please see today's video that focuses on relationships.

Instructional Focus
Hello, this week administration and coaches will come through focusing on collaborative structures, standards based instruction, and summarizing activities. Please make sure we are capitalizing on our instructional time throughout the day. Planning for what happens when the students get it immediately, may not get it at all, or need a little remediation is key to not being caught by surprise during the lesson. Focus on lessons and activities to ensure they are on the proper level to address the standards using Bloom's Taxonomy.

Shout Outs
Wonderful shout out to Mrs. Parker for coordinating the supply drive for the need from Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma. Congrats also to Mrs. Gainey for transporting the items to Haines City to be delivered. Thank you to all of the staff members for checking on one another and making sure everyone was safe during and after the storm. Kudos to 4th grade for turning in their sub plans and for having outstanding walk throughs prior to the break. Mrs. Westbrook, Williams, Brown, and Frantz 😎😎😎😎

Behavioral Focus
Please make sure that we are reinforcing class room procedures and rules. Students have been out for an extended period of time and will definitely need a refresher course on your policies. Please remember the information about the dress code from this a.m.'s meeting. Please have consideration for students that are out of uniform due to the storm and lack of having electricity. Please if you notice anything out of the ordinary with your students that we can support or assist in correcting.  Please make sure to continue to compliment your students positive behavior with JAG Bucks, we have received wonderful feedback from the store with students and parents.
