Walk Through SPOT LIGHT!!!
Mrs. Ricketts in 3rd grade was working on multiplication whole group with various sets of making the problem. Students were learning about associative and distributive property. Students broke into independent work and had to model a problem using the number of rows and manipulatives to create their own math problem. Upon completion, students had to find someone who was done and check their work to ensure they had correctly applied the processes within the classroom. The exercise was a key example of I Do, You Do, We Do.
Mr. LeCompte had a reteaching lesson on simplifying equations with 7th grade transpiring on Friday. Students were struggling with the concept, and he provided them with an alternative to assist in solving the problem. He provided a technique to simplify the problem by utilizing the distributive property to provide the expression with like terms in order to be able to simplify the problems. He utilized calming techniques during class period to calm angst of students and he walked around and checked for understanding throughout the class period.

ReplyDeleteFood is always a nice item, but time together is good. It was fun hanging out last year waiting for the burgers to cook at the Burger Bus.
