MM 11/27/17

Welcome back from the break staff. I hope that everyone was able to spend quality time with their loved ones. Secondly, it is imperative that we use the extended breaks to receive some much needed rest from the daily stress that working in education provides. Please make sure that you remember how important you are to the success of your students and that they need you here for them daily at school. Teacher attendance plays a huge role in the education of a student. Thank and let’s continue to forge ahead as we seek to regain our A status as a school. One Team, One Dream!

Curriculum Updates

We will begin conducting informals for the staff members upon returning from the break. Please make sure that your lessons are incorporating all of the domains out of the Journey system. Emphasis for the week will be on writing in response to learning. We should always provide the opportunity for students to write within the classrooms from vpk-8 grade levels. It is a very important aspect of education and it provides the student with a solid foundation that is built up throughout the grade levels.

Behavioral Update

Returning from breaks are always an opportunity to reinforce classroom procedures. Please focus on having students remain in the classroom during instructional time. If they are in the hallway or visiting another classroom, it takes away from their ability to learn. It is imperative that we remain diligent in the dress code and ensure that we are monitoring ALL students in reference to tops, bottoms, and non uniform jackets. We will be out during class changes to make sure students are transitioning smoothly. We must also make sure to monitor tardiness of students between classes to ensure that we are maximizing instructional time.

Shout Outs

Great job by the cafeteria staff members in preparing our Thanksgiving meal, we had quite a few visitors and everyone was extremely complimentary of the food and service. Thank you to our PTA, guidance department, Assistant Principals, office staff, and teachers for being willing to eat with the students whose parents were unable to attend.

Please remember with teaching our students “That success is not built on success. It’s built on failure. It’s built on frustration. Sometimes even catastrophe.” Remember this when times are good and bad to help have our students ascertain a growth mindset.
