Latest News

Good Morning, as we embark on the week I would like to take a moment to thank our instructors with it being teacher appreciation week. I understand that you are never told thank you enough, paid enough, or appreciated enough from parents, students or stakeholders, but I would like to let you know that I appreciate you for all of the sacrifices and hard work that you do when no one is watching and all of the extra educating, tutoring, positive comments, hugs, smiles, and praises you bestow among your students to ensure that they believe they are successful. Thank you and know that we will provide several small tokens of appreciation this week, but it pales in comparison to the greatness that you provide on a daily basis.

Principals’ Highlights

·        I would like to commend the excellent work with book clubs with Readers’ Workshop being displayed in 4th grade classrooms of Nichole Gainey and Tracy Strouse. Students had reading objectives and were discussing their findings of their novels and able to clearly explain the purpose of the book clubs and their desired outcome of the assignments using graphic organizers and HOT questions.
·        I would like to also highlight the wonderful work of the Theatre department for an excellent production put on this past week that was highly entertaining. Thank you to Mrs. Nichols and Mrs. Reynolds for all of your hard work to make the production a success, my favorite was the AMC channel.
·        Thank you for everyone being diligent and out in between classes and ensuring our students are in uniform.
·        Update on emergency procedures, when you see someone on campus that is not a JSA student, please always contact the office immediately.

GLOW 4 THE WEEK

·        JSA ITV program for the wonderful parody my school with the hard work of Mr. Dill and his talented students.

·        Thank you to our entire JSA staff that continues to assist and support our students on a daily basis in and outside of the classroom.

 Formative Assessment

Formative of the week is Carousel Brainstorm excellent summarizing strategy for several subjects and all grade levels.

 Behavior Update

Please continue to be consistent in our monitoring of students with electronic devices and upholding the dress code at school. Your attention to detail has not gone unnoticed. When we have one voice on the items, it has cut down tremendously the amount of electronic devices that are out during the school day. Students are also looking more presentable by enforcing our tucked shirt rule.
