MM Vol 3 9/5/16

MM 9/5/16
Good Morning, I hope everyone had a safe and restful Labor Day Holiday. As we set out for the week I would like to have this quote serve as the driving thought for the week.

"I like to think that the greatest success of any life is the moment when a teacher touches a child's heart and it is never again the same...Everything America is or ever hopes to be depends upon what happens in our school's classrooms. -Frosty Troy

Remember that you are the difference makers in the world and you have a greater influence on the shaping of our future with your educational practices that you provide on a daily basis.

Walk Through Highlight
Mrs. Nichols' drama class was working on performing a slate with students in 3rd grade displaying proper posture, speech, volume, and appropriate crowd etiquette within the classroom concluding their presentation with a bow. The students presented with confidence and were an excellent audience to one another in class.

Mr. Phillip World History course was engaged in note taking utilizing technology to provide information to students, Students were able to make real world connection on building construction and materials used during ancient times, students given opportunity to draw parallels between Mayan and Ancient Egyptian architecture while engaging classroom in learning.

Glow 4 the Week
Mrs. Hailgler's Dance students performed an excellent routine during Funtastic Friday with several dancers putting on a choreographed hip hop dance routine.
Instructors are teaching bell to bell in 89% of our classes.
C.H.A.M.P.S. training was evident in student behavior monitoring in classroom walk throughs, during the week, please continue to implement your consistent expectations.

Formative Assessment
3, 2, 1 is an excellent tool to utilize to summarize the information learned during the lesson in all grade levels. The item can be used to set up small group in the elementary level as well as set up the remediation lessons in whole group classes for the next day.

Behavior Update
Staff members please remember to make your positive calls home to commend your students that are performing well for you. This serves as drops in the bucket and builds up equity in the future with your parents. Please make sure that 5- 8th instructors are marking cards on the electronic spreadsheet as well as on the JAC Cards. Please make sure that we are monitoring the halls and holding students accountable for tardies. We have outlined the classes that students have long treks to walk from and it still should be seconds late not minutes.
