Michael's Memo 5/21/18 Good evening, we embark on our final week of school. I want to say thank you to everyone that put their all into making JSA the greatest school in Polk County. I truly believe that our family is doing a great job and I want to thank everyone for all of the sacrifices made this year. Thank you for ensuring that our students had the opportunity to see a smiling and caring face daily, providing sound instruction daily, ensuring student safety throughout the day, and supporting the administration in our initiatives and programs.  I want to reiterate the backpack rule. Students are allowed to have small bags that are the size of a sheet of paper. Traditional backpacks are not permitted. Administration will do their very best to ensure all backpacks are identified prior to school beginning. If a student comes with a backpack to class, buzz the office and we will come and pick up their bags.  Shout Outs!! Thank you to Mrs. Huyhn, Mrs. Holbert, ...

Michael's Memo 5/14/18 Good morning staff, as we embark on our final 9 days, we seek to capitalize on learning and continue to instruct our students on the standards that they need to master prior to moving on to the next grade level. We do have several activities coming up in the next two weeks. Keep the goal the gaol and continue to build up our students academically, socially, and emotionally. Please remember that you are sometimes the only smiling face that students get to see throughout the day. SHOUT OUTS Mrs. Turner, Mrs. Brown, Ms. Mills and Mr. Smith for breaking up the altercation during dismissal and being vigilant towards student safety. It is very important that we keep our eyes sharp and arrive at our duty posts. Everyone is expected to be on duty after school for the final two weeks in hopes of curtailing any negative incidents occurring on campus. Instructors can assist by walking behind students to our three primary dismissal areas: Car rider, elemen...

MICHAEL'S MEMO 5/7/18 Good morning staff, I want to be the first to say thank you for all that you do to make JSA the best school. I am fully aware that the teaching profession is often beaten down by the negative incidents of our colleagues. I just want you to know that JSA administration is thankful for all that you do and we will have PTA sponsored days throughout the week! Lunch will be provided on Thursday. Curriculum focus As we close in the final 3 weeks remember to focus on finishing strong with a roar and not a whimper. Our learning maps must continue to serve as a guide to student learning in the classrooms. Behavioral focus Students must continue to be in uniform at JSA, no exceptions. Shirts must be tucked in at all times, non JSA jackets are not permitted, student transitions must be monitored and tardies marked to discourage late arrivals to classes. Thank you to all staff members that continue to provide tips on student situations to keep everyone safe ...
