MM 3/19/18
Good morning staff, we stand 5 days away from spring break. We must make sure that we capitalize on all of the student instructional time within the classroom. Elementary and middle please attempt to have volunteers complete the pre cutting and sorting of materials as much as possible. I know that everyone is yearning for a break, and looking forward to the upcoming time off. O implore you to run through the finish line and keep up the good work with instruction in your classes.

Curriculum Updates
ELA:
Plan of action between now and testing: Teach to the pace of the maps during ELA block and reteach during intervention time. Intervention time must be diagnostic and prescriptive. Intensity is the game changer!
MATH
Temperature Check: The math block must be dedicated to current standards and instruction. When will the reteaching occur? How will we know if students mastered content during reteaching?
April 11th at 3:15 Live Meeting for Elementary Teachers-please refer to Joe McNaughton’s email
Science
March 19-23 is the last opportunity for schools to administer Q3 Science or better known as Gut Check. Please remember that Science Q3 is not optional for schools earning grade C or below. Protect your science block for 5th grade. Let’s raise the roof in our region for science scores!
Administration has spoken to all of our departments and instructors on intervention plans for tested areas and math to assist in instructing our students and maximizing their potential. Students in need of assistance will be part of pull out program from electives to ensure they are prepared for EOCs and FSA assessments.

Behavioral Update
Please continue to be consistent in marking tardies, dress code checks, and enforcement of the rules as a whole on campus.
Big shout out to middle school teachers who consistently were at their doors last week during class exchange in back building and in portables. Your eyes and presence makes a world of difference.
Please continue to enforce the electronics policy, it will continue to allow the focus to be on student instruction during contact time. Instructors that allow students to listen to utilize devices during class need to make sure devices are put away in backpacks or purses prior to exiting your classrooms and headphones and earbuds must be put away as well.
PLCs will occur on Friday of this week instead of Thursday
School Safety makeup session for Critical Response will be this afternoon at 3:30 in the principals conference room. Anyone that has not received training needs to contact me.
