MM 3/5/18
Hello everyone, assessment season is upon us. Please remember to follow all procedures provided to you by the manuals and Mrs. Reddick. We have worked hard to prepare our students and I know we will be successful on our Writing Assessments. Please remember not to stress, success happens when you accept the challenge of trying to achieve a goal, not when the goal is met. We’ve got this and let’s have a great week.
Shout Outs
Theatre Department for a wonderful job with the Adams Family Junior production. Everything was magnificent, the costumes, setting, and of course the actors.
Shout out to 7th and 6th grade ELA/Reading instructors for their students drastic improvements on their STAR test that were rewarded with goodies from administration. Mrs. Richard and Mrs. Martin.
Shout out to the Lady soccer team for getting their first victory of the season.
Academic Focus
Pacing is important, we need to make sure that we are focused on the curriculum maps and adhering to the lessons. We understand the effect that the hurricane had on JSOA. If you need some assistance in planning or addressing your lessons, please speak to one of the coaches or administrators for assistance.
Equality and inclusion for everyone in your classrooms. It is imperative that everyone receive the same learning opportunities while in our classrooms. Please make a note of responses to questions, calling on multiple students to answer and reinforcing every students belief that they can learn.
Behavioral Expectations
Students should arrive to class on time. Please make sure you are enforcing tardies.
All non uniform jackets should be brought to the office, if it is not 50 degrees or colder. Avoids recidivism with non compliant students.
JAC Cards should be with students at all times. Staple to agenda or in class folder if student has issues keeping up with card.
Expect same behavior from all students.
Whatever behavior is acceptable for one is acceptable for all. For example, if students are not allowed to talk, then whomever is talking should get the same consequence as a frequent flyer receives.
Speak the way you would like to be spoken to. Enough said.
